An independent financial advisor operates without affiliation to any brokerage, bank, or investment firm. That means no preferred products, no sales quotas, and no commission from the investments I recommend. My only obligation is to the client sitting across from me — not to a firm's product lineup.

Yes. As an independent advisor, I operate as a fiduciary — meaning I'm legally and ethically required to put your interests first, always. Many advisors at large firms operate under a lower "suitability" standard, where a recommendation just has to be suitable for you, not necessarily the best option available. As a fiduciary, every recommendation I make has to be in your best interest, full stop.

I work on a fee basis — not commissions. I'm paid directly by clients, not by the funds or products I recommend. There's no financial incentive for me to recommend one investment over another based on what pays me more. You know exactly what you're paying, and why.

Earlier than most people expect. The financial decisions made in the 5–10 years before retirement — when to claim Social Security, how to sequence withdrawals, how to rebalance a growth portfolio into an income portfolio — are often more consequential than any single investment decision made in the prior 30 years. If you're within 10 years of your target retirement date, now is the right time to build a dedicated retirement income plan.

The first meeting is a conversation, not a pitch. I'll ask about your financial situation, your goals, your timeline, and what's keeping you up at night. You'll ask questions about how I work and whether I'd be a good fit. There's no obligation on either side. If there's a clear fit, we'll talk next steps. If not, I'll tell you honestly.

I work with clients across a range of asset levels. What matters more than account size is whether I can genuinely help. The clients who benefit most from independent advisory are typically those navigating retirement transitions, managing inherited wealth, or business owners planning for a sale or succession. If you're not sure whether you're a fit, the first conversation will answer that for both of us.

My practice is based in La Quinta and the Coachella Valley. I prefer working with local clients where possible — relationships built in person tend to go deeper. That said, I do work with part-time residents and clients who have relocated. If geography is a question, let's have a conversation.
